Botanical Garden of Meise, Belgium
Designer: NU Architectuur
NU Architectuuratelier commissioned us to develop the technical aspects of the new visual communication elements for the Meise Botanic Garden.
Our scope included the manufacture and installation of custom furniture for the reception desk and shop, as well as a range of outdoor wayfinding and public infrastructure elements.
The project features suspended tables, orientation poles, information boards, lighting masts, and public benches integrated along the main walkway.
The Meise Botanic Garden has a long history that goes back to 1796. Today, this internationally recognized botanic garden in a domain of 92 hectares has become a center of excellence for plant biodiversity research with a rich collection. Meise houses the 15th largest herbarium in the world, holding 4 million preserved specimens, a rich botanical library, a seed bank and a living plant collection with 25,000 different accessions from all around the world.
