We developed this retractable school gate which integrates into the existing signage of the city of Antwerp.

The aim of the project was to develop an easy-to-use system that blocks street access to cars at school entrance and exit times. We paid particular attention to the product’s aesthetic appeal, its discretion when closed, and its ease of use for school staff. The barrier is used by volunteers, and therefore requires smooth, easy handling. A gas spring system allows the gate to be raised without feeling its weight. In the event of a collision in the open position, the barrier is designed to preserve both the barrier and the lifting system.
